Viena vizitează Timișoara – Open Iris Photofestival 2025 – Timișoara , Romania

Iris Photo Club presents “Viena vizitează Timișoara” at Open Iris Photofestival 2025

Featuring the artists:

Mariia Tsaritsyna | Sorin Ivanovici | Florian Kopr | Michael Laubsch

On the gracious invitation of Master Photographer Damian Diaconescu and the Iris Photo Club,
four Vienna-based artists are honoured to present their works in Timișoara.
The exhibition will take place at the prestigious Casa Studenților from October 14 to November 9, 2025.

The participating artists each explore the unique potential of analogue photography, employing time-honoured techniques
as the foundation for their contemporary artistic practices.
Their works, while rooted in the “ancient yet ever-relevant” methods of analogue image-making,
reflect highly individual approaches and creative expressions.

A selection from each artist’s oeuvre will be on view,
offering insight into the diverse ways in which analogue processes
can be reimagined and reinterpreted in the present day.

The opening event will be held on Tuesday, 14 October 2025, with all four artists in attendance.
Visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with the creators,
gaining insight into their personal perspectives on artistic processes and visions.

“Sehschärfenbestimmung” – 60 Artistic Approaches to Analogue Photography -Timisoara, Romania – AnalogMania Festival 2025

“Sehschärfenbestimmung” – 60 Artistic Approaches to Analogue Photography

Following its acclaimed debut during the Rotlicht Festival for Analog Photography in Vienna (2024) and the expanded presentation at the Zrno Festival for Analog Photography in Skopje (2025), the exhibition Sehschärfenbestimmung now arrives in Romania. We are proud to announce that the Analog Mania Art Festival has selected the current version of this large-scale group exhibition, featuring 60 international artists, for presentation at Casa Tineretului, Timișoara, from 13 October to 9 November 2025.

The title Sehschärfenbestimmung (literally: “eyesight control testing”) reflects the exhibition’s conceptual foundation. It embraces a diverse spectrum of artistic processes, all rooted in analog techniques and aesthetics. Each participating artist contributes a carefully curated selection from their body of work—ranging from personal favorites to works-in-progress and entirely new explorations.

The resulting image-strips, all uniformly sized at 20 x 120 cm, not only provide a cohesive visual experience but also evoke the nostalgic imagery of mounted analog negative rolls awaiting discovery. This presentation invites visitors to immerse themselves in a wide range of creative insights, innovative ideas, and captivating concepts—highlighting both the enduring beauty and the contemporary relevance of analog-based artistry.

The opening event will take place on Monday, 13 October 2025, in the evening, with many of the exhibiting artists in attendance. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the creators personally and engage in dialogue about their approaches to analog photography.
